The Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea) is a large coniferous evergreen native to the Eastern United States for landscapes and gardens. The plant is also grown commercially for lumber and Christmas trees. This species has the widest hardiness range of any Abies in the United States, and is very adaptable outside of the native range. This plant has no negatives of note. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
